Salute was an excellent show, bigger even than last year, with so much to see and do it was impossible to cover it all in a day. It was lovely to catch up with the friends I did meet up with and very cool to see folks I'd not met face to face before but have known online for a long time! Lovely chats as always with Annie at Bad Squiddo, Ian at Fenris Games, Mike Hutchinson (Gaslands, Hobgoblin, Space Gits), Greg of Man o' Kent Games, Ben at Cerberus Studios and Warren at Amber Works Studios, among many others. I was not that great at taking pics during the day (I was saying to friends on the day that I'd be a rubbish hobby influencer), and was very restrained in my purchases (I think it'll be a different story at Expo!), but here are the bits I did pick up:

A lot of this is the freebies we got in our goodie bags on entry; so there's the Warmag base magnets (which I use a lot so always good to have more), the dice, and the Wargames Atlantic model of Saladin (which I have since built and primed). I bought one single paint(!) from Element, because the others I had on my list were sold out...grr...but all good! I was also kindly given an Oddbot modular kit from SMFX and a Paladin from Greyhawk Miniatures - and I just had to buy a Hans Cockman from Bad Squiddo as a companion for my Turkeyman.

So much caught my eye, but I really only took a couple of pics (rubbish!); one of this very spectacular naval battle with Firelock Games ships, and another of the Voidsiege game board, mainly because I was thrilled to see they were using the figures I painted for their demo games! Had to have a game of course, and it's really fun :)

(Jon Hodgson backdrop used for this pic!) Overall it was a great weekend; I travelled to London with my partner and we went to the Tate Modern and the National Maritime Museum, as well as having a ride on the cable car. UK Games Expo Coming up at the end of May is UK Games Expo, which I'm really looking forward to. The plan is that I will be based at the Amber Works Studios stand over a couple of days, painting examples of their excellent figures, and also at the Mig Ammo stand on the Sunday, demonstrating the Ionic paint range like I did last year - as well as just enjoying the show and catching up with friends for the rest of the show! Latest projects To close off, here is a gallery of the recent pieces I have completed; mainly commissions, though I have actually managed to paint a couple of my own collection this past week!

First, here is Fellar Karllson, a 54mm figure from Cerberus Sudios which I painted yesterday afternoon. He's part of the Storr Warriors faction in the skirmish game Celestial Affinity.

Then here is a Dwarven Trollslayer from Highlands Miniatures via Tango Down Gaming, who is a licenced retailer

Necron Ophydian Destroyers

Nekrosor Ammantar of the Necrons

Red Corsairs Terminators

Huron Blackheart

Bretonnian Men at Arms

Imperial Knight

British Light Dragoons (Epic Battle scale)

Imperial Assassins

Blood Angels Bladeguard - these were completed today
